Photography by Mark Wilkinson who was a student at the Arts Insitutute. Mark’s photograph of a family relaxing on Boscombe beach won the Channel 4 Year 1 competition in July 2001, first claiming the prize for best in the category "play" and then winning against the other four category winners. The competition attracted over 13,000 entries and was so popular that the organisers decided against holding it a second time for fear of being overwhelmed. Mark's collection was part of the BNCE millennium project.

BAF is looking for community groups, performing artists and companies who might be interested in contributing to a week of activities in July.

The festival sees a broad platform of arts being performed at various venues in Boscombe during the festival week including Bournemouth Centre for Community Arts, church halls, schools and Boscombe High Street. It is also proposed that there will be a Big Top in Shelley Park to allow events to go on into the evening.

The festival will be held between Monday July 12 and Saturday July 18. To contact the community co-ordinator call Manda Graham on 01202 304502 before April 12.
