Boscombe Community Fair and The Bourne Spring Centre are working in partnership to bring an exciting programme of summer holiday activities and workshops at the Boscombe Community Fair Childrens Area at Kings Park on 6th and 7th September.

“Fly the Flag for Family Fun in Boscombe” is a competition open to voluntary and community groups and children’s activities available in Boscombe and surrounding areas.
We are inviting groups to share with us an image of their activities on flags and banners that could be used to brighten up the perimeter fences at Boscombe Community Fair at Kings Park during the first weekend in September and paraded in a procession from St Mary’s Community Centre to the Fair on Sunday 7th September. All entries are of course returned so that the groups can continue to use their flag or banner to raise awareness of their activities.

The Boscombe Community Fair Children's Area is split into four arenas
- Babes and tots, activities include music with mummy, jolly babies, tip of the tots see www.creativedynamo.net soft play and early learning toys

Babes and tots;

- The 'not quite teens' will also enjoy an interactive story time where a local performer (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=monvXGGES_s&feature=related) encourages children to act out parts in his hairy fairy tale.
- There will also be face-painting
Teen’s space;
- Teens will have thier own marquee to decorate and to chill out in.
- There will also be Electric guitar workshops, Street Dance performace, graffiti session.
This year the children's area will be more secure and defined with only one entrance/exit to the workshops, arenas and rides. Parent's are actively encouraged to participate in the activities and are not permitted to leave their children unattended in the children’s area.
This program of activities has been designed to help develop children and young people’s talent and skills and by actively encouraging parents to engage with the activities they too will develop further skill and creativity in ways to play and interact with their children and teenagers.
The majority of the existing BCF Children’s’ Area Crew are CRB checked and those who are not work alongside someone who is. We are always happy for more volunteers to join us although references will be required.
